'SECURING' Organizations against Unknown Intruders

Pushing the boundaries in biometrics, one of the key aspects of SECURE is its unique facial authentication feature. The company’s AI-integrated image analysis solutions, which include FaceTracker, NOZOKIMI BROCKER (Face Recognition Peep Blocker), and FaceStation2, have been developed to meet the varying purposes and client requirements.
Using a distinctive facial authentication technology, Face Tracker analyzes the images of human faces captured in surveillance cameras at high speed and notifies the connected devices when a registered user is authorized to access into a location. The faces detected in the video or the accumulated face data from the surveillance is stored in the organization’s server and can be retrieved in case of any requirement in the later stages.
The NOZOKIMI BROCKER or the Face Recognition Peep Blocker is an application, which on installation, protects PC systems from unauthorized users and prevents third parties from prying into the device screen. On detecting an unregistered operator, the application locks the screen and prevents information leakage, especially while performing external functions such as telework. SECURE’s hands-free biometric access tool - the FaceStation2, which comprises a multifunctional IP terminal equipped with a highly advanced facial authentication algorithm, utilizes facial recognition to promote speedy and accurate authentication.
To ensure maximum levels of security in an organization, SECURE incorporates IR and visual methods in its authentication technology, where the IR feature brings the acceptance rate as close to zero as possible to eliminate the possibility of accepting unregistered users. In the visual method, the face recognition technology recognizes the facial parts captured by a general video camera to ensure the identity of the person.
Taniguchi cites a scenario where one of its clients, a major food manufacturer, required an entry/exit management system using facial authentication to enhance its security. The client reached out to SECURE for its facial recognition readers to tighten its authorization access as a part of strengthening its food security. SECURE installed face recognition readers across all the doorways of the client’s organization to enable reliable identification and secured the client’s facility successfully and cost-effectively.
Scripting similar success stories, SECURE has primarily been driving toward an in-depth understanding of the various features of AI and Image analysis and intends to improve the face recognition accuracy for the visual method. Upcoming plans for the SECURE team include the integration of distributed solutions and the development of access control solutions optimized for small and medium-sized businesses.

Strengthen collaboration between secure and retail DX development

■ Background and purpose of strengthening collaboration
So far, the DX conversion of major retail companies has been carried out by first conducting demonstration experiments from some stores in metropolitan areas. These demonstration experiments have demonstrated the usefulness of store DX conversion, and as the next stage, the needs of major retail companies who want to consider and start the nationwide expansion of store DX sophistication and demonstration experiment initiatives have become full-fledged.

Future prospects
Headwaters and Secure have advanced solution functions for store DX, such as people flow analysis, nuisance behavior, and shelf status monitoring, and built a service system that provides implementation support when deploying to stores nationwide. We will support the DX conversion of retail companies' stores, and work to strengthen collaboration with a view to applying it to the smart building and smart city fields and overseas expansion.
