Cyberattacks have been on the rise for the past few years, but enterprises are still unprepared for sudden cyberthreats.
Fremont, CA: Currently, several organizations are struggling with cybersecurity as security professionals are finding it difficult to cope with multiple threats. The lack of expertise and information available to effectively manage large amounts of vulnerabilities means that enterprises could be close to a critical point of irreversible damage.

What is at stake is a smooth victory for cyber fraudsters who focus on many of their ingenious attacks on the huge number of vulnerabilities hidden inside enterprise IT infrastructures and finding some conveniently accessible route to launch an attack.
The patching and remediation process, with limited resources, time, and manpower, is now a complicated process rather than the complete extermination of the greatest risks. It is becoming worse because several hackers just scratch the surface, and this can leave a much more severe effect and have several layers of infrastructure consequences. If the attackers manage to succeed, it is because they acted swiftly, with about half of all damage occurring within two weeks after the Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) update. An enterprise can normally fix vulnerabilities only about 85 days after this update. This gives hackers the easiest opportunity to launch a far more dangerous and successful attack. Even security experts struggle during this phase to fix the existing problem, as there are new vulnerabilities being detected on a daily basis.
Sometimes, the damage is caused due to alert fatigue. Current vulnerability management (VM) solutions are enough to handle the task as businesses are still vulnerable and exposed and security professionals are not prepared to handle unforeseen threats.
Security professionals are still naturally drawn to more dangerous and severe attacks. It can put unnecessary pressure on those risk-free vulnerabilities that can never be exploited. This could lead to enterprises ignoring the surface level attack that cybercriminals have launched in preparation for the complete attack. To overcome these challenges, organizations must employ a predictive vulnerability management system that can enable security personnel to focus on high-risk vulnerabilities.
