A transformational merger establishes a new market leader to expedite the widespread adoption of digital accessibility.
FREMONT, CA: Digital accessibility is a set of rules to help people with disabilities get around problems. Accessibility is an important thing to think about if the organization has a website or a mobile app, and for most public and private organizations, it's the law. Level Access, the most recognized provider of enterprise digital accessibility solutions, and eSSENTIAL Accessibility, pioneer of Accessibility-as-a-Service, have concluded their merger today. The two firms will merge to develop an industry-leading platform for end-to-end digital accessibility management, revolutionizing the industry and speeding the adoption of digital accessibility.
"We're thrilled to join forces with eSSENTIAL Accessibility and define the future of digital accessibility as it becomes a mainstream priority for more organizations," says Tim Springer, Founder and CEO of Level Access, named CEO of the combined company. "With this merger, we will accelerate our pace of innovation, delivering a powerful new solution that will help organizations achieve and maintain digital accessibility and will scale with them over time."

"In our digitally driven world, online engagement is more important than ever, making equal access to digital experiences a fundamental human right," states Mark Steele, Co-Founder, and CEO of eSSENTIAL Accessibility. "Steele has been named President of the combined company. For this reason, more organizations are committing to and investing in digital accessibility. And whether they've never prioritized it or have struggled with sustainable results, our combined company will provide the premier solution to support a long-term accessibility program."
People with disabilities are the largest minority population in the world, including over one billion individuals. Digital accessibility bolsters an organization's commitment to inclusiveness and adherence to anti-discrimination regulations. Many rules and regulations have been enacted or applied internationally to enforce digital accessibility. The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) is frequently used for websites, mobile applications, and other digital experiences in the United States. Increasing numbers of lawsuits and ADA legal demand letters are being delivered to non-compliant organizations.
Incorporating digital accessibility into their Governance, Reporting, and Compliance (GRC) activities and Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) obligations will be in an ideal position to support this shift in emphasis.
“Changing market trends have driven digital accessibility to the mainstream. Our investment in the combined Level Access and eSSENTIAL Accessibility is based on this sector's strong growth prospects and the opportunity we believe this talented team has to meet customer demand through an enterprise-grade solution,” states Ben Pederson, Director of the technology growth team at KKR, the lead investor in the merged organization.
KKR and JMI Equity, the primary outside investors of eSSENTIAL Accessibility and Level Access, will continue to support the expansion of the united company. The investment is made via KKR's technology growth fund.
