EASM, according to Gartner, will be part of a larger vulnerability and threat management drive focused on identifying and controlling internal and external-facing assets and possible vulnerabilities. As network complexity develops, organizations' blind spots expand rapidly, while criminals continue to scour the internet for vulnerable assets to exploit. Sweepatic's technology detects any exposed IT assets on the internet, including cloud services, externally exposing on-premises infrastructures, web assets, and more.
• EASM capabilities cross over into other established security industries, including Digital Risk Protection Services (DRPS), according to the report's key findings.
• EASM is a new idea that is gaining traction among security vendors but is gaining traction at a slower rate among end-user enterprises.
• EASM can be used as part of a larger organizational vulnerability management plan.
EASM solutions like Sweepatic are leveraged to explore both known and unknown external-facing assets and networks, recognize infrastructure-based vulnerabilities, or supplement existing capabilities like vulnerability assessment and cloud security posture management to prioritize and remediate vulnerabilities.
