In 2022, the Adtech industry will guide companies through first-party data, comprehensive ID solutions, and high standards
FREMONT CA: First-party data will play a critical role in influencing the adtech sector in 2022—it is the fundamental thread that connects all of the predictions made this year by Asia-Pacific programmatic experts. The deprecation of data available to advertisers caused by Apple's ATT framework and Google Chrome's upcoming removal of third-party cookies will result in a surge in investments in data-management and identity-resolution solutions, more creative approaches to deploying first-party data, and new measurement approaches. However, these solutions will need to be better customized to mobile-heavy APAC this year, according to one expert, who claims that existing ID solutions fall short on attribution and measurement. Moreover, leaders predict that programmatic will emphasize creativity, both in terms of performance-driven creative campaigns and adopting more inventive approaches to engage mobile customers.
Privacy protection and improving user experiences will be the top goals in the adtech business in 2022. As Southeast Asia's rapid digitalization takes center stage, mobile advertisers in areas such as finance and ecommerce are faced with limitless chances to capitalize on paid and owned channels. As businesses engage extensively in new privacy-centric technologies and initiatives such as the private cloud, the sector is poised to undergo a significant transition. To enable a better and safer digital experience for customers, these technologies will guide platform media networks, tech partners, and app developers to get together in a privacy-preserving data clean room. While creating significant interactions and personalized experiences to propel business growth in this new era of privacy, brands can also protrude in the mobbed adtech space by embracing a return-on-experience-centered approach.

In the in-app world, universal IDs are anticipated to significantly transition in 2022 as adtech attempts to solve attribution and measurement alongside targeting. The industry has spent years developing browser-first identity workarounds, even though mobile apps account for the vast majority of media consumption. Advertisers may have gotten by with existing web-first solutions five years ago, but that is no longer an option and requires app-first solutions. Simultaneously, the technique for building identification resolution has been limited to targeting alone. And the need to effectively measure and attribute isn't getting the attention it deserves. Adding to the intricacy of the in-app environment and Apple's own ATT rollout, the issues become more pressing than most buyers realize. Talking about the universal IDs end-to-end with an emphasis on attribution and measurement is a big failure as the adtech industry could not develop an appropriate solution.
