THANK YOU FOR SUBSCRIBING
While billions of mobile and portable devices continue to expand the IoT universe, Mr. Carlos Morales intends to use Ambiq's SPOT platform to extend AI to the most remote computing nodes.
FREMONT, CA: Artificial intelligence can also aid the manufacturing industry as it improves over time. As the machine learning models continue to study data particular to your business and manufacturing process, they will improve accuracy, and their ability to detect failures and abnormalities will improve. Ambiq has hired Carlos Morales as Vice President of Artificial Intelligence (AI). Mr. Morales will employ Ambiq's Subthreshold Power Optimized Technology (SPOT) platform to extend AI to the most remote compute nodes as billions of mobile, and portable devices continue to expand the ever-growing IoT universe. He will focus on enabling revolutionary low-latency AI-driven applications while minimizing the need for high-energy consumption through local and intelligent analytics.
“Ambiq is on the cusp of revolutionizing the IoT by enabling tomorrow’s battery-powered endpoint devices to become more intuitive, energy-efficient, and seamlessly integrated into our daily lives,” says Fumihide Esaka, the Chairman and CEO of Ambiq. “We are delighted to have Carlos join us to drive our endpoint intelligence goal to fruition.”
Carlos Morales has almost three decades of experience in research and development, spanning silicon to the cloud. He most recently oversaw a company-wide AI strategy and business growth initiatives at Intel® for five years, working with a worldwide AI Software Team. Before joining Intel, Carlos was a member of Cisco's Advanced Architecture and Research division. He pioneered ground-breaking technologies such as fog computing and the first fully-featured software-defined router, a critical component of Edge to Cloud operations.
"The moment I understood Ambiq’s unique value, I knew I had to be part of their journey," says Mr. Morales. "The opportunities unlocked by bringing AI to the vast far-edge ecosystem are mind-boggling and terrifically exciting. Ambiq is in a singular position to truly bend the arc of compute, and I’m happy to be a part of that."
Carlos' career has spanned nearly every facet of computer engineering, from ASIC design to cloud-based Deep Learning-as-a-Service products. Apart from AI, he has developed knowledge in Cloud-based back-end applications, cybersecurity, workload scheduling, orchestration, isolation, and efficient networking through his previous employment.
