Simple, Scalable, and Secure Remote Access for Hybrid Work Environments

The COVID pandemic has bought about a paradigm shift in the way businesses operate. Most companies tend to follow the hybrid working policy, which largely involves remote working. The zero trust model of Banyan offers three main features. Firstly, it has user and device trust scoring capabilities to facilitate the approval or denial of access. Next, it features continuous authorization of access via a cloud command center which ensures that if anything changes, we can enforce the trust-based policy in real-time.

This provides the highest level of protection from any unauthorized access over the public internet, regardless of the hosting model.

Thirdly, its zero trust model enables deep visibility into the internal applications, user activity, and existing devices on the network to analyze the types of devices and users. This approach provides companies with insights for better access control and accountability. In addition, it provides least-privilege-based access to only those resources the user needs to do their job. With such a competent team of experienced professionals, Banyan has scripted success for many employees across industries. Jayanth shares an instance where Compass, a rapidly growing real estate technology organization, chose Banyan to provide remote access across their extended DevOps team. Initially, they utilized traditional VPNs that gave access to sensitive resources, infrastructure, and applications across distributed deployment models. The client relied on engineers to manually set up the network externals on a daily basis. They also invested heavily in the cloud, specifically Amazon and Google, which led to many security gaps, legacy, and scalability issues.

To this end, Compass leveraged Banyan’s zero trust model to fill the security gaps and improve their overall productivity. This provided them a fine-grained control across their internal resources along with improved security and visibility. In effect, Compass had a positive user experience which became a huge win for Banyan and its teams. Jayanth adds, “After evaluating our license cost and usage patterns, Banyan becomes the easy choice, translating into a boost in both revenue and customer adoption.”

Having helped several companies reroute around the disruptions of the COVID pandemic, Banyan has conceived an expansion blueprint to expand its presence within the states and globally. The company also plans to add many capabilities into the ZTNA solution to support contractor scenarios with clientless access, Chromebooks, and privileged users. “We are really going beyond the core, what we call a VPN replacement to be a more complete access control solution for a broader set of enterprises around the world,” concludes Jayanth.
