Alpha Serve is at the forefront of optimizing data management in today’s fast-paced business environment. It is dedicated to helping businesses make data-driven decisions with confidence, whether streamlining data workflows, implementing intelligent analytics, or creating real-time dashboards with its automated data solutions.

As heavy Atlassian users themselves, Alpha Serve’s initial foray into application development began with its flagship product, 2FA, designed to enhance the security of JIRA login. This application introduced second- factor authentication, requiring users to enter a one-time OTP or use a U2F device in addition to their login credentials. It firmly bolstered their overall security and instilled a sense of credence.

Building on 2FA’s success, Alpha Serve and its U.S. subsidiary
acSoft Inc subsequently developed applications for various platforms such as Shopify, ServiceNow, Zendesk, monday. com, and QuickBooks. Despite the platforms’ similarity in requirements, Alpha Serve ensures each application specifically caters to the nuances of its target ecosystem.

“Our most recent venture is the development of Vault Password Manager, a solution that stemmed from our internal need for a reliable application to securely store credentials, passwords, and other sensitive information within JIRA while facilitating easy sharing among teams and employees,” says Anton Storozhuk, CEO of Alpha Serve.

Effortlessly Create and Manage Passwords

Vault Password Manager is designed for JIRA Cloud and built using Atlassian’s development platform, Forge. The tool allows users to create different sets of credentials and confidential information stored as vaults. Creating and managing these vaults can be customized via its userfriendly interface, allowing for easy viewing and editing capabilities and offering fine-grained control over access rights.

One of the conveniences of using the Vault Password Manager tool is its seamless integration with employee onboarding processes. When a new employee is hired, they can be easily added to the relevant vaults within the tool, enabling them to gain immediate access to all the information they need without any cumbersome process.

Uncompromising Security at the Apex

All the data within Vault Password Manager is encrypted, ensuring robust security. Different encryption mechanisms such as PBKDF2 SHA-256 and AES 256-bit encryption are employed to safeguard user data, providing peace of mind that even administrators cannot access the information without the proper password.

When designing the Vault Password Manager, Alpha Serve identified the importance of incorporating an additional layer of authentication for enhanced security. This prompted the introduction of the Application Password feature. Unlike other applications in the Atlassian marketplace that rely solely on JIRA authentication for login purposes, Alpha Serve’s Application Password bolsters the protection of sensitive information within its application.

It has also implemented a recovery key system to ensure easy account recovery options. When users save their application password, a recovery key in PDF format is generated. Users are advised to save and securely store this key as a precaution.

If users forget their passwords, they are provided with two recovery options. The first option is to use the previously downloaded recovery key during the initial account setup in the application to restore access to the account. Alternatively, if users are unable to access their recovery key or have forgotten both their password and recovery key, they can initiate a password recovery process with the assistance of a JIRA administrator, where they are directed to a recovery screen to set a new password and get a fresh recovery key.

A Boon for Small and Medium-Sized Businesses

Vault Password Manager is a game-changer for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs), positioning Alpha Serve as a champion of their success. To demonstrate its unwavering support for SMBs, the firm provides the product free of charge to small teams of up to 10 members, eliminating the need for additional expenses on external password management services.

However, the versatility of Vault Password Manager extends beyond SMBs, making it an ideal solution for companies of all sizes and industries.

Whether it’s SMBs embarking on their growth journey or larger enterprises seeking efficient password management, Alpha Serve’s Vault Password Manager stands as a reliable and scalable solution by their side to ensure the convenience, security, and peace of mind that comes with streamlined password management.
