| | OCTOBER - 2021ENTERPRISE SECURITY6In recent years, we've seen a rise in the number of organizations turning to Managed Security Service Providers (MSSPs) to offload their IT processes and free up resources. By having a specialized team of experts handle different parts of their environments, organizations can benefit from more predictable expenses without sacrificing security, compliance, or the complications of managing and optimizing new technology. But in today's business climate, that alone is not enough. We've seen the COVID-19 pandemic and remote work revolutionize IT environments, and Managed Services is adapting to keep up.The Managed Security Services (MSS) Market was valued at USD 27.70 billion in 2020 and is expected to reach USD 64.73 billion by 2026, at a CAGR of 15.2 percent over the forecast period 2021 - 2026. Due to the pandemic Covid-19, businesses have changed the way they used to work. To maintain employees safety forced many corporations to change their regulations and policies. The inability to travel and cross borders and social distancing have forced businesses to change their current ways of functioning and reconsider operational choices. Remote working has increased the market for the managed security services. MSS providers offer numerous applications to industries that encompasses their entire network security requirements. The most common of them are Managed Intrusion Prevention/Detection Systems (IPS/IDS), which constantly monitors the network for signs of any forced entry. Other MSS applications include Distributed Denial of Services (DDoS), Unified threat management (UTM), and Secured information & event management (SIEM). There is also a growing trend for Endpoint Security Services, which protects the corporate network when accessed via remote devices such as laptops and smartphones. The trend is driven by the rapid adoption of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) in workspaces, which allows employees to access corporate data through personal devices in an attempt to improve productivity. The future of MSS is heavily dependent on government regulations regarding data security. In the United States, strict regulations on information security and growing awareness regarding its complexities are driving enterprises to MSS. MSS providers should also collaborate with national cybersecurity agencies to help identify the evolving nature of threats, in order to develop appropriate counter-measures.Let us know your thoughts. The Evolving World of the Managed Security SpaceEditorialRussell Thomas Managing Editor russell@enterprisesecuritymag.comOCTOBER - 04 - 2021, Volume 07 - 14 Published by ValleyMedia, Inc.
