As identifying malicious, illegal logins are tedious to track in the remote work environment, companies can seldom rely on password authentication as the only form of protection against online attacks. The use of biometric systems plays an important role in the current IAM space, as using even complex passwords is not secure enough. However, by incorporating identity and access management solutions such as facial recognition and fingerprint sensors, organizations are being able to successfully protect their interests and sensitive data from theft and violation. Identity management services are gaining popularity, as the service providers handle the bulk of management tasks, allowing IT departments to focus on other priorities. IT administrators can implement conditional access for users based on their login location or other attributes. Many IAM vendors are incorporating machine learning and artificial intelligence to perform behavioural data analysis and, in turn, improve security measures. These methods are proving their potential in identifying the personnel authorised for networked systems and also help analyse user login attempts and identify suspicious behaviour such as multiple failed attempts to log in. Moreover, to script great customer experience, organizations need to receive authentic customer information; security and risk professionals need to incorporate cutting edge identity and access management capabilities into their offerings to safeguard this information set. In this edition of Enterprise security magazine, we feature companies that provide innovative Identity and Access Management (IAM) solutions along with insightful articles from industry leaders. We hope the valuable insights from industry thought leaders and emerging companies featured in this edition would help you make informed decisions for your organization.Russell Thomas Managing Editor editor@enterprisesecuritymag.com
